DANCING WITH THE FOX

This is a kind of dance that was danced in carnival festivities, in a small town called Hernani (Basque Country), but as these festivities were prohibited during Francos dictatorship, nowadays is danced the following days after Saint John’s day.
The procession, usually is made up of fourteen or sixteen people led by a dancer dressed in fox fur, parades through the old town’s streets, holding a long rope to keep them together and wearing an inflated cow bladder in one hand, surrounding people with the rope and beating them with the bladder.
